According to Air Marshal Bharti, India’s military operations were squarely aimed at eliminating terrorism and the infrastructure supporting it, not targeting Pakistan’s military installations or nuclear assets. He stressed that while India’s conflict is with terrorists, the situation worsened due to Pakistan’s military’s active support of these terror groups. Additionally, he revealed that Pakistan had used Chinese-origin missiles, notably the PL-15 air-to-air missiles, to launch attacks against India. However, these missiles missed their intended targets, underscoring India’s robust defense capabilities.
The air marshal also discussed the broader context of military engagements, particularly how India responded to Pakistan’s violations of ceasefire agreements. Pakistan’s use of drones and missile strikes demonstrated its persistent aggression, and India’s retaliation was a direct result of these provocations. Bharti expressed regret over Pakistan’s decision to involve its military, making it a broader confrontation than India initially intended. The Indian forces, however, remained vigilant and prepared to respond appropriately to further violations.
